We created Farm Ready after seeing too many hardworking South Africans being misled, delayed, overlooked or scammed while trying to work in the U.S. through the H-2A and H-2B programs.

Our mission is simple: to guide you step by step, in clear, easy English. We show you how to qualify, find real U.S. job openings, apply directly to real U.S. employers, get hired, get your visa, and get ready for life abroad.

We’re not an agency and we don’t sell jobs. We’re a training and support community built by South Africans, for South Africans — to help you stay informed, confident, and safe every step of the way.

Our lessons, visa preparation guides, and verified employer lists make the process simple and transparent. Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between the H-2A and H-2B visa programs?

H-2A is for temporary agricultural work (planting, harvesting, farm tasks). H-2B covers non-agricultural seasonal roles (hospitality, landscaping, construction, service).

Will the membership improve my chances?

Yes, many agents only forward a few easy/perfect applications to the employer, so now your odds go way up because you apply direct, early, and the right way.

Membership provides:

- Direct to employer: where to find real jobs + what to say

- Standout docs: US-ready CV & email examples

- Timing edge: when to apply so you’re first in line

- Verified employer contact detail + visa/interview practice

- Scam protection advice + WhatsApp support (SA community)

Bottom line: you use the same steps agents use, but you do it yourself—direct, correct, on time.

Do you place me in a job?

No —"hierdie is die geen agente roete". We do not place people directly. Instead, we teach you how to find and contact farmers/employers yourself, so you can get hired faster and easier.

Is the paperwork hard?

Not with checklists. We provide step-by-step checklists so there’s no guesswork — paperwork becomes straightforward.

What support do we offer?

We offer WhatsApp support during working hours — “praat gou” — for quick help and questions. Some membership tiers include extra support options (see membership FAQ below).

What does our memberships include?

- Step-by-step training (plain-English modules + checklists)

- US-ready CV + email templates

- Visa/interview practice (Q&A + checklists)

- An employer email database (verified contacts)

- Scam-Shield basics (what to ignore, what to ask, how to verify)

- WhatsApp learning community (SA support + weekly tips)

How do I cancel?

Farm Ready is flexible. There are no pesky contracts and no commitments. You can easily cancel your account anytime–just message support on WhatsApp or email and we’ll sort it out fast–anytime during support working hours.

Do you help with interview or visa interview prep?

Yes. We help you prep for both employer interviews and visa (consular) interviews. You get mock interviews, an easy Q&A bank, US-style answers, and checklists for forms and consulate day—so you feel ready and calm.

Can I bring my family?

Sometimes — but for H-2A/H-2B it’s usually not practical on your first season. Housing is typically for workers only, and dependent visas (H-4) can’t work in the U.S.

How we help: We’ll walk this with you—give the right info at the right time, plain-English checklists, and trusted contacts. We’ll help plan when/how to bring family, show your partner how to apply for their own H-2A/H-2B job (so both can earn), and note that bringing kids later is usually easier once housing and school are set.

What languages and regions do you support?

We primarily support members in English and Afrikaans, worldwide. If you need help in another language, ask and we’ll confirm availability.
